Narcissus ''Jack Snipe''

group: Small Flowering Narcissi

Hybrids of N. cyclamineus are all elegant plants with just one flower to a stem. The early flowers are slightly drooping, with long trumpets and swept-back petals, and are sometimes bi-coloured as in the very popular yellow and white 'Jack Snipe'. Unlike other narcissi, this prefers slightly acid, moist soil, with plenty of compost or leaf-mould. It seeds very freely and, if the bulbs are to be encouraged to spread rapidly, the faded blooms should not be deadheaded.
